Now this is nothing to be ashamed of! We know how easy it is to get carried away. Especially when the snow gear is just so damn good. And realistically, what better to spend your cash than on getting dripped out for the slopes? Behold, our gift ideas for ski and snowboard enthusiasts.

While all our gear at Powster is designed with budgets in mind, when there’s so much good stuff, it can be pretty hard to hold off on adding that one more item to your online shopping cart. But the good news is, Christmas is coming! Which means you have every right to spend excessively and get everything you need to carry you through this skiing and snowboarding season. Or you can show some self-restraint and stick within the budget – whatever your style.

So! Whether you’re treating yourself and stocking up on some of Powster’s sickest goggles, or have a pal who loves nothing more than to shred with the freshest gear, we’re about to set you up for the best gift-giving season yet. We’ve put together a pretty impressive list of gift ideas for ski and snowboard fans so you know exactly what to look for for that special someone – even if it’s yourself.

From helmets to jackets, bibs, and goggles, right here is where you will find the best gift ideas for skiers and snowboarders that’ll make your Christmas one to remember. Take the Pulsar Pro Moritz Special Edition Snowboarding Goggles for example – nobody is going to be more stoked to unwrap these bad boys than a fellow skier or snowboarder.

Goggles for Ultimate Visibility on the Slopes

Nothing says “I love you” to a skier or snowboarder like gifting them a pair of some of the hottest goggles on the market. We’d even argue that ski and snowboarding goggles are one of the best outfit accessories you can own. Not only do they look irresistibly cool, but they're also an essential item for any winter sports outfit. Want to know why? We’ve got you.

For starters, ski and snowboarding goggles help enhance your visibility when you’re on the slopes. This is key because as many of us pow lovers know, there is nothing worse than not being able to see where you’re going when you’re flying down the mountain on one of the greatest runs of your life. Thanks to Powster’s Zeiss lens technology, which is carefully crafted with the best of specialized tints, polarised filters, and mirror coatings, they give you crystal clear vision in bright, overcast, and bluebird conditions.

Next on the list of pros is their ability to increase your depth of field. It’s no secret that it can be hard to see obstacles in your path when it’s super bright on the mountain, or it's overcast and grey. The lens technology works to enhance color and brightness due to the special curve of the lens. It allows blue light in when needed, but balances that with suppressing the light so you can see what’s in front of you a whole lot easier.

Goggles are also the smartest way to protect your eyes from harmful UV rays. Zeiss goggles are scientifically designed to work at high altitudes where the sun is most prominent and provide 100% protection from harmful solar UVA and UVB rays – up to 380 nanometres.

Ski Hoods and Beanies for Serious Warmth

If you can keep your head warm in the icy conditions of mountain life, you can keep your body warm – it’s as simple as that. Of course, that doesn’t mean we’re suggesting you wear nothing but a beanie or facemask, that might not go down so well with mountain patrol. But when you combine a good head warmer with the rest of your skiing or snowboarding kit, you’re definitely going to be better off when it comes to keeping cozy against those harsh winter elements.

Buying a beanie or facemask for you or a friend this Christmas is also one of the most budget friendly gift options for ski and snowboard enthusiasts. You don’t have to break the bank to show someone that you care about them, even when it comes to winter sports accessories. The best part is, they’re super easy to layer underneath your helmet, and could potentially even help with further injury prevention if you do find yourself in a sticky situation. Look out for these kinds of products that are made from super insulating materials, like merino, nylon, acrylic, or polyester, they’ll definitely trap in the heat and keep you snug.

Helmets to Protect Their Head

If you really want to show someone that they’re number one on your list this Christmas, you can’t go past buying them a helmet. After all, it’s the best way to protect your head on the slopes and prevent injury, some of which can be devastating. We are huge advocates for helmet-wearing here at Powster, and the reason is pretty straightforward. You are much more likely to come off an accident in one piece if you’re wearing a helmet – we can’t stress this enough. Wearing one also sets a good example for other riders who might think it’s “not cool’’ or they “don’t need one” – trust us, they do.

On the plus side, we have an unreal range of helmets to choose from for your gift list. Designed for additional comfort with our Pow-lymer technology, featuring rotation force protection, and with unparalleled durability and lightweight feel, you really can’t go wrong with these bad boys. Developed by Powster, Pow-lymer is a shock absorption material that alters its molecular structure upon impact.

So, if you do injure your head, it works to spread the impact energy and reduce the transmitted force to the brain. As a result, it helps with reducing concussions and brain injuries at low and mid-speed. Available in a range of colours and the option to get your hands on a helmet with or without a visor, you can’t go wrong.

Mid Layers to Trap in the Heat

If you’re spending hours up the mountain, whether you’re learning to ski or snowboard or perfecting your tricks for the big stage, there’s a high chance you’re going to get wet. And when you get wet, you get cold. And there’s nothing worse than being cold when you’ve got business to do. If you or someone you know has no trouble shredding all day long, investing in quality mid-layers is a no-brainer.

While some riders like to wear a sweater, hoodie, or padded vest, others might take it a step further and use something like a down or synthetic jacket to really lock in the heat. It’s important to note, however, that you don’t want to be wearing layers that are too thick because they have the potential to restrict your body movement on the slopes.  Try for mid-layers that are heavily insulated but incredibly lightweight. The last thing you need is your clothing dragging you down and stopping you from making all those twists and turns when it comes time to show off your skills.

Down material is by far the warmest option for a mid-layer, but on the off chance it does get wet, it isn’t the best option for retaining that heat. On the other hand, synthetic material isn’t as warm, but it does stand up against the elements if it gets wet. Our advice is to experiment with both. The hope is that if you have a quality top waterproof layer, you’re not going to have to worry about those insulation layers getting wet.

No matter what your budget or style, we’ve got everything you need to spoil someone special. All that there’s left to do is start adding to that shopping cart.
